| Shilstone is set in several hundred acres, some of which have far reaching views to the sea. The Estate consists mostly of grassland, grazed by sheep and South Devon cattle and bordered by Devon bank hedges and traditional stone gateways.The land at Shilstone is fascinating; carefully restored small enclosures interspersed with woodland, lakes and streams all set in a gently sloping valley. Every corner offers a different breathtaking view.
Shilstone gives easy access to many of the best South Devon beaches and is only 10 minutes from the A38. We are 30 minutes from Plymouth and about 40 from Exeter, both having mainline train stations and airports. Historic Totnes, also on the main train line, is 20 minutes away and the beautiful coastal towns of Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe are all within about 30 minutes drive.
Our local town, Modbury, is less than 2 miles away and offers a full range of food, craft and gift shops and galleries. Modbury boasts some of the finest Georgian buildings in South Hams and is well worth a visit. |
